The top five destinations of Ecuador, according to TripAdvisor

In TripAdvisor, the US travel website that collects experiences of travelers, Ecuador has been awarded the recognition Travelers’ Choice. This means that the country is among the favorite destinations of the site’s users, because this award is given to places with better reviews and ratings of users.

Quito is the most popular destination of Ecuador, according to this website that highlights the wealth of the pre-Columbian history of the capital. In addition, the city is ranked number 11 in the list of the most popular destinations in South America.

Cuenca is second in the list of TripAdvisor, the cisty stands out for its cultural offerings. Ratings of 1009 users have earned the Cajas National Park the recognition of best place to visit in the capital of the Azuay province.

Guayaquil is in third place. TripAdvisor attributed this position to the city thanks to the growth in the tourism market “thanks to the new international airport and urban renovation projects that have been implemented.” Thus, Ecuador’s largest city is recognized by the Malecon 2000, the Historic Park and Las Peñas neighborhood.

Banos de Agua Santa stands in fourth place in the list. Located at the foot of the Tungurahua volcano, this town presents itself as “an increasingly popular tourist destination to relax in the hot mineral water pools or adrenaline rush with adventure sports,” according to the tourism website. The Pailon del Diablo and the Route of the Cascades are among the most visited destinations in Banos.

Puerto Ayora is ranked fifth (Galapagos Islands), home to the Finch Bay Eco Hotel, which in 2014 was recognized as the Best Green Hotel of the world by the World Travel Awards.
