The trade deficit amounts to $ 1,201 million

From January to April, the deficit of the trade balance (difference between exports and imports) stood at 1,201 million dollars according to the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE).
Shipments totaled 6,423.37 million dollars in the first four months, while orders that were brought from abroad were higher: 7,624.41 million dollars.
Among the non-oil items that have had the best performance are bananas and cocoa, which together generated income for the country by 1,241 million dollars.
