From this Monday, April 13, 2020, the traffic lights start throughout the national territory . And this begins with the color red and will remain so until next Sunday, April 19 , mentioned the Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos , on the national network.

The schedules of the curfew also remain the same, starts at 14:00 and ends at 05:00 the next day, therefore citizens can move between 05:01 and 13:59 either on foot or in private vehicles and exclusively to buy food , medicine or for proven emergencies .

Safe-conducts allow the circulation of people who are dedicated to specific activities such as health , press , food provision or those who attend to the emergency . The misuse of this document is sanctioned by the Law .

Public performances and gatherings of people remain prohibited. Maintaining social distance is essential to avoid becoming infected with covid-19, according to experts.

The markets will continue to enter according to the last digit of the ID , only one person and wearing a mask and gloves . Mondays 1-2, Tuesdays 3-4, Wednesdays 5-6, Thursdays 7-8, Fridays 9-0, even numbered Saturdays and odd Sundays. Maximum 30 people can enter the establishment to stock up. During the wait, people must keep one meter away from each other.

In supermarkets , there are stores that open at 07:00 or 08:00, but all are open until 12:30. Likewise, only one person per family must arrive to make purchases and for admission , the use of a mask and gloves is also required.

The suspension of the face- to- face workday continues until April 19. Workers must stay at home, in telework mode in coordination with employers , except for areas that require emergency services or production such as health , food , among others. Also, schools, colleges and universities are maintained with virtual education .

The borders will continue to be closed and the restriction on national and international flights also remains in force. Public and inter-provincial transportation remains suspended.

Food delivery people, until 19:00

The red traffic light means that traffic restrictions remain as before. Restaurants must remain closed and can only work with home deliveries .

The delivery people will be able to transport food even within the curfew hours, until 19:00. They can circulate without adhering to plate restriction. On April 19, 2020, two isolation periods of 14 days each will be held in Ecuador . And from that date the authorities will evaluate the flexibility of certain activities by province , which they have called traffic lights .

However, on several occasions it has been reiterated that the relaxation of measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus does not mean that citizens return to the normality that existed in January 2020. It is a “ new normal ” in which the People must make use of protective equipment, avoid contact with other people and abide by the restrictions decided by the Government indefinitely.
