The UEFA and Gianni Infantino sold the matches rights to Jinkis
The new president of FIFA, Swiss citizen Gianni Infantino, signed a contract with Argentine businessmen Hugo and Mariano Jinkis, who are now accused of bribery in the Fifagate case, as disclosed by the Panama Papers, which come from the massive leak of files of the Mossack Fonseca law firm, which were delivered to the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung.
Hugo and Mariano Jinkis bought the TV rights of the UEFA Champions League and almost immediately sold them for a much higher amount, almost three times the initial value. This was pointed out by the leaked documents that have been analyzed by more than 100 media around the world, the same that participated in the project of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
This story is related to Ecuador, since one of the TV networks that bought those rights was Teleamazonas.
