The Young people who yesterday inaugurated the University of the arts, which occupies the old building of the Governorate of Guayas, expect that the institution allows them not only to shine in the art world, but also change the misperception of the society about the artists.
Students from Guayaquil are a majority among the group that initiated the levelling course of 20 weeks: 151 of 224 students.
Young people who come from provinces stay temporarily in a hotel. The institution covers their expenses for food and accommodation, while the University residence in the old Mail office gets ready.
Degrees will begin in September with the students who obtain a mark of 8/10. leveling will also start in septemper for those who apply, after having obtained a quota for its score in the national examination for higher education (ENES), applied in the country on March 29.
Diego Almeida, Manager of the University, expectes that for the next six months between 200 and 250 seats would be offered.
