The VI Summit of the Americas Starts with a Dinner
The President of the United States, Barack Obama was the last to arrive to the colonial fort of San Felipe of Barajas. The location was used for the welcoming party organized by Colombia to the participants in the VI Summit of the Americas.
Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos, hosted the summit accompanied by his wife, Maria Clemencia Rodriguez and the foreign minister, Maria Angela Holguin. The presidential family received the guests privately before going to dinner. A large security operative of around 19,000 police officers and their special forces handled the security of the event.
Journalists were also invited to the celebration held at the fortress build by Spaniards in 1533, after founding the city. The party was entertained by folk groups, orchestras and Colombian artists. (AV)
