Their empathetic hearts led them to create a bionic arm

The disability of a fellow student who does not have one of his upper limbs inspired two students of Mechanical Engineering to write a thesis on the development of a bionic arm. The innovators are Michael Laz and Irving Guillén, students at the Universidad Técnica Estatal de Quevedo.

Jorge Luis Guadalupe, the tutor of the future professionals, commented that the project started with the idea of mixing mechanics and electronics. The young men never imagined that their solidarity would lead them to make the first bionic arm in the province of Los Ríos.
