There are 11 dead over landslide in Azuay, miners fear for their jobs
Freddy Carusso Madero Aguilar, 55, is another victim to appear after the rescue work over the landslide in the camp of Pueblo Nuevo, Bella Rica, Ponce Enriquez canton (Azuay), and with him, there are already 11 in the death toll.
Presumably there are more bodies under the mud and debris, so the rescue operations continue in the canton with elements from the Group of Intervention and Rescue (GIR for its Spanish acronym) and from the Special Operations Group (GOE for its Spanish acronym).
So far it has not been able to determine exactly how many people have been buried in the avalanche, but unofficial versions from miners speak up of more than twenty people missing.
The landslide and collapse of the camp of Pueblo Nuevo also brought concern to dozens of miners because of the loss of jobs.

Miners are worried about their jobs.
The interior of the Pueblo Nuevo mine was not affected, but the camp, which held power generators, heavy equipment and restaurant service, disappeared.
So much so that the miners are returning to their places of origin by the lack of work.
Ponce Enriquez has 4,000 people living in there, and everyone keeps a 100% relation to the mining industry, which moves its economy around gold.
