They asked to occupy land in Durán for the Airway station

In 30 days, the Municipality of Durán could ask the court to order the immediate occupation of the land used to build the Airway station, according to Mario Serrano, municipal district attorney.

He argued that the Civil Judicial Unit, based in Guayaquil, denied the appeal lodged by the Vimare company, which owns the property, to stop the expropriation of the site and indicated that with it the Cabildo is authorized to notify the company regarding the start of the negotiation stage.

The Municipality declared a 14,564 m² riverfront land for the station, a project that drives and finances its Guayaquil counterpart. But Vimare has filed appeals and has alluded to the violation of the right to property and legal security. Initially filed a protection action that was received in first and second instance. There were subsequent hearings and favorable resolutions for the municipality of Duran.

Serrano indicated that if in 30 days there is no agreement on the value, the Cabildo will record in the court the amount established in the resolution of expropriation, which is $ 320,000.

Álvaro Noboa, director of Vimare, has proposed that the Municipality allocate an unoccupied land on the pier to the Airway. There, the Cabildo plans to build its new administrative facilities. (I)
