Third Court approves ECTV lawsuit against Palacios

Yesterday afternoon, the Third Criminal Court of Guayas approved a lawsuit filed by Enrique Arosemena, general manager of Television and Radio Company of Ecuador EP RTVECUADOR (ECTV), against journalist Emilio Palacio for alleged grave slander slanderous.

Judge Eduardo Diaz accepted the complaint for bringing together “the requirements specified in Article 371 of the Criminal Procedure Code“, (data of the accuser and the accused, complainant’s signature and story of the alleged violation, specifying the date and place).

The lawsuit was set due to Palacio’s words to ECTV: “government propaganda machine devoted to insulting and harassing citizens.”
