Thousands of Catholics Participated In Cristo del Consuelo Pilgrimage
The tour, that goes through 17 streets, began at seven o’clock in the morning, thousands of Catholics walked toghether with the image of Cristo del Consuelo surrounded by flowers, to the Espíritu Santo Church, located in Chambers and Leonidas Plaza streets.
This year, most of the prayers were dedicated to the family strengthening and conservation.
Catholics in other parts of the city also gathered in different pilgrims, such as Maris Stella (parish located in Domingo Comín Ave.) which covered the East side of the city and its pre-cooperatives Guasmo, Cinco de Octubre and Unión de Bananeros until participants returned where they started. And the procession of San Agustin (downtown) which went through the streets Pedro Moncayo, Padre Solano, Lorenzo de Garaicoa, Victor Manuel Rendon, Baquerizo Moreno and Junin.
