Tungurahua Volcano Threw up Cinders

Yesterday, Tungurahua volcano surprised the population of Quito with the emanation of cinder of about 3 kilometers high. This phenomenon presented within a period of low activity, in which “The Colossus” has maintained since early this year.

Monitoring stations of the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School began to search the presence of ash at 17:14 on Wednesday.

As pointed out by the Geophysical website, “it was a column with a moderate to low content of ash, which reached a height of 3 km towards the south-west”, but then the winds changed and the column was directed to the north-west.
