After the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño noted that the drug could have probably been introduced on the diplomatic suitcase on the way to Milan, TNT Courier Company ensures that the weight of the suitcase did not differ between the departure from Ecuador and its entry into Italy.
The shipping company version, hired by the Foreign Ministry, stated that on January 11 they received (in the offices of the Foreign Ministry in Quito) the Suitcase with a weight of 79.1 kilos. TNT says the suitcase arrived in Milan keeping the exact same weight. In the document, the company claims that the authorities in Milan received the boxes with the labels of the Ministry without presenting alterations.
These statements generated questions, as if the weight did not differ between Quito and Milan, its still not determined where the drug was introduced. However, the Foreign Ministry, despite the revelations of TNT, stated that the legal adviser of Foreign Affairs, Marco Albuja explained that the boxes weighed 79.5 kg. which means, 400grams of what was said in the courier.
However, according to the company, the service offered by TNT to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is of “door to door”, ie they would not have the ability to manipulate the content.
