Today is the deadline of the CNE

Today is the deadline given by the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) to political groups that did not pass the signature review process, to submit more headings in order to obtain legal status allowing them to participate in 2013 elections.

Different political groups, amid protests, complied the CNE’s decision, but they are now trying to collect the remaining signatures they need.

Some groups, like Pachakutik (PK) and the Movimiento Popular Democratico (MPD), have voiced their concern of being left out of next year’s elections. (MZ)
