Today is Walt Disney’s birthday
A day like today, 112 years ago, was born in Chicago, Illinois, the creator of the wonderful and magical world of Disney, Walter Elias Disney, and with him, was born the dreams of millions of children worldwide.
Disney was a producer, director, screenwriter and animator, considered an icon of the global entertainment industry in the twentieth century. Along with his brother Roy decided to found the company Walt Disney Productions on December 16, 1923. This same company, years later becameon of the most famous animated producer world to our present, called The Walt Disney Company.
His first animated feature film was released in 1937: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” film that came before Dumbo, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, among others.
Over the years, Disney acquired renown as a film producer and innovator in the field of animation and as a designer of amusement parks.
Among his most epic characters is Mickey Mouse, who for many years led the voice of Walt Disney.
Throughout his career, the artist and entrepreneur was awarded with 22 Oscars, a total of 59 nominations and received four honorary awards, which makes him the person with most Academy Awards. He also won seven Emmy Awards.
The December 15, 1966 Walt Disney died of lung cancer.
