Posted On 04 May 2011
The original stone covering the tomb of Pope Karol Wojtyla in the Vatican has been moved to Krakow (Poland) and installed in the chapel of John Paul II Center, confirmed Wednesday his spokesman, Piotr Sionko.
The transfer took place after the beatification of the late Pontiff, when the tomb of John Paul II was relocated in the right aisle of the Basilica of St. Peter’s, now under the epitaph “Blessed.”
Speaking to television TVN24, Sionko said that “starting next Friday,” the stone will be placed in the chapel of the Center, where all the faithful could visit him in the future.
