Toyota to set up Social Network Service

Toyota is developing a social network service with the help of a U.S. Internet company to allow drivers to interact with their cars in a similar way as in Twitter or Facebook.
Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. and Salesforce.com, based in San Francisco, announced Monday an alliance to launch “Toyota Friend”, a aprivate network for Toyota cars owners that will work just as messages in Twitter.
In a demonstration in Tokyo, a Prius hybrid car owner received a message on his cellphone from his Prius Where he was warned that electricity recharge was needed during overnight.
When the owner of the car plugged it in for recharging, the car said: “The burden will be completed at 02:15 am. Ok? See you tomorrow.”
