Turkey Founds the Bodies of Pilots of Downed Jet

This Wednesday, the Turkish armed forces command informed it had discovered the bodies of the two pilots of an F-4 jet shot down by Syria last month. After this incident the relations between Ankara and Damascus reached a new low after Syria downed the Turkish reconnaissance plane over the Mediterranean on June 22.
Turkey promised a sharp rebuke, which the country later qualified as a “decisively” response. Syrian officials maintain that the plane was shot down in self-defense when it was inside Syrian airspace.
Ankara informed that the shooting down would not go “unpunished” afterwards it summoned a meeting of its NATO allies. So far it has not retaliated since both, Syria and Turkey have said they do not want the incident to lead to an armed conflict. AV
