TV channels reject Government accusations

Posted On 12 Jun 2015

ECUAVISA-TELEAMAZONASRECHAN-ECUADORTIMES-ECUADORNEWSTV channels Ecuavisa and Teleamazonas yesterday rejected the government accusations of being part of an alleged conspiracy plan.

“Messrs José Serrano, Government Minister, and Fernando Alvarado, communications secretary, said yesterday via Twitter the first, and in one of the confiscated channels, the second, that Ecuavisa has committed with protesters who claim the government for the increase in taxes,” said Alfonso Espinosa de los Monteros, Televistazo news anchor.

And he points out that Ecuavisa does not assume these attitudes in any case. “We do not incited protesters, nor have we ever incited,” Espinosa de los Monteros said, in addition to emphasize that informing is their duty.

Through a statement on Twitter, Teleamazonas answered “against insinuations made by government spokesmen” the TV channel “rejects the intention to involve it in a destabilizing plan of the Government and the democratic order”.
