The General Secretary of the UN, Ban Ki Moon, suggested this September 25 the creation of an international body of health professionals, or “white coats,” whostay in as needed to combat the Ebola outbreak in Africa Western.
“We should consider if the world needs a body of health professionals to be maintained just waiting, backed by the experience of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the logistical capacity of the United Nations,” Ban said at a hight level meeting of Ebola in the UN headquarters.
“Just like our UN troops with blue berets maintain people safe, a body in white coats can help keep people healthy,” he added.
