Unasur finance ministers will meet to shield South American Economy
For the first time in years, South America is not in the epicenter of crisis, it is not its immediate victim. On the contrary, its economy grows.
To ensure that good time, finance ministers of the twelve countries of UNASUR will meet tomorrow in Buenos Aires in search of action and coordination to shield the economy of South America.
After years of harsh adjustment policies, South America now has “a strong fiscal position, high international reserves, economic growth, and employment, but we cannot say we’re immune. If a new recession happens in the U.S. and Europe, it will eventually affect Latin America, trade would be particularly affected,” said Rubens Ricupero, former head of the UN Conference on Trade and Development.
