The march against government policies, specifically the labor reforms, started in Quito with the support of the workers’ organizations, and the indigenous political opposition.
The point of the meeting was the Insurance Fund and later they marched to the Plaza de Santo Domingo, in the Historic Center, like previous demonstrations.
Little by little voices of the retired soldiers, students from state schools and other sectors were heard, protesting the measures taken by the government of Rafael Correa.
The former head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Ernesto Gonzalez, said there are three reasons to be in the streets: to regain full democracy in the country, dividing the Armed Forces, and the defense of social security IESS, ISSFA and ISPOL. (I)
