United States expresses its solidarity and offers assistance to Ecuador.” by the earthquake

 

United States Secretary of State John Kerry in a note sent to the government of Ecuador said: “we stand with the people of the United States to express our deepest condolences for the loss of lives as a result of yesterday’s earthquake in Ecuador.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected,” he said while adding that “we are with the people of Ecuador at this difficult time and we are ready to help in any way we can.”

The State Department “is closely monitoring the situation” in Ecuador and is “in touch with the Ecuadorian authorities,” said the spokesman for American diplomacy, Nicole Thompson.
