University students invited to the last visit to Yasuni

A second ‘inspectioncitizen’ inspection to oil extraction works in the Yasuni park was accomplished without the participation of some interested.

On October 15 and 16, second group of “citizen monitors” was taken to that area of the Amazon by the Department of Policy.

Undersecretary Rosa Mireya Cardenas explained that the nine students who made the inspection were from the National Polytechnic university and the Central University of Ecuador.

And she recalled that the first visit was made in March, ten people from “social movements and organizations” came.

She also reported that these ‘monitors’ have already submitted their report to the National Assembly.

She announced that the last trour of the year is planned for December, and they expect the participation of teachers so “the third report submitted projects more professionalism,” she said.
