Unpaid housewives would not access to the full benefits of Social Security
Posted On 18 Nov 2014
The compulsory registration of housewives and even fines will be included in labor and social security reforms.
According to the draft submitted by the Executive power to the Assembly, workers who do not receive compensation at home, will not access to all the benefits of Social Security, but only a seniors and disability pension, plus an allowance for funerals. The minimum pension for housewives will be $ 77.
Thus, if not paid, they will not access to health care or could apply to credits by the Social Security, among other benefits currently enjoyed by its members.
The benefit is financed with the support of the family of the housewives and a grant given by the state, funded by the surplus profits of workers.
