Ecuadornews:
In the first months of President Moreno’s administration, the first 500 million were disbursed for this project.
According to the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, María Alejandra Vicuña, from 2018 to 2021, the government of Ecuador plans to deliver about 325 homes through the “Casa para todos” (A House for everyone) social project, for which it will allocate 1.2 billion dollars.
Of the total number of homes that will be delivered, 191,000 housing solutions will be free, and 134,000 will be financed at low cost. Vicuña commented that the project started with a first disbursement of 500 million dollars in the first six months of management.
So far, 20,000 houses are under construction in cantons such as Guayas, Chimborazo, Manabí and Sucumbíos, on behalf of the public company Ecuador Estratégico. These homes will be delivered in the first three months of the New Year. Another 60,000 are already in the phase of comprehensive studies, thanks to the fact that with the support of the municipalities it was possible to identify 131 properties that are classified in category A, that is, they have the right conditions.
