US Elections 2012: Gingrich Ends his Presidential Bid
Posted On 02 May 2012
Newt Gingrich has finished his presidential campaign, it is expected that he endorse the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney. Gingrich lost contests in five states last week soon it became clear that Romney would be the designated candidate.
Gingrich dropped out of his presidential race for the White House during a news conference in Arlington, Virginia. His recent withdrawal leaves only Ron Paul, a Texas congressman to race against Romney.
Now Mitt Romney needs 1,144 delegates to secure the nomination by the end of May. Lately Gingrich’s run had some bizarre ideas, one of those was to establish a US moon colony and having school children work as janitors. (AV)
