US Elections 2012: Romney Talks About Workforce

Mitt Romney talks about the US workforce

During a campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 8, the former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, stated that the economy is clearly suffering.

Afterwards he talked about Barack Obama, “He wants other stimulus, he wants to hire more government workers. He says we need more firemen, more policemen, more teachers… It’s time for us to cut back on government and help the American people.”

Romney is partly right in that the private sector is not doing as well as it could be. On the other hand Obama misspoke in suggesting that the private sector is completely shielded from any hardship.

Economic analysts believe that the fall in the public sector employment is dragging down the economy of the country. (AV)
