US Embassy says it supports Ecuador in effort to return abductees

The Embassy of the United States in Quito said today that it supports the Government of Ecuador in its efforts for the return of a journalistic team of the newspaper El Comercio, kidnapped yesterday in the province of Esmeraldas, on the border with Colombia.

“We support the government of Ecuador in its efforts to return them to their families and restore security at the border,” the diplomatic delegation said on its Twitter account.

In that social network, he expressed his solidarity with the newspaper El Comercio and with the families of the members of the kidnapped team in the Mataje area.
