US report on human rights points to Ecuador

The United States Wednesday accused Venezuela of Cuba of publicly and unashamedly repressing civil society and Nicaragua, Bolivia and Ecuador of doing so appealing to onerous bureaucratic procedures.
In Ecuador, the government of President Rafael Correa “continued to restrict independent media and civil society through intellectual property laws in order to force the dismantlement of Internet content,” according to the text.
