Vanguardia Magazine Filed lawsuit Against President Correa
Posted On 31 Aug 2012
Ecuadorian Magazine Vanguardia today filed a lawsuit for moral damages against President Rafael Correa.
USD 2 million, plus legal costs and the payment of attorney’s fees are the requests made in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit is based on allegations that the head of state would have uttered in his citizen broadcast made on Aug. 4, when he accused the firm of failing to comply with their duties. “The moral damage that Correa has caused to the company, based on false arguments and insults publicly proclaimed, is daunting,” said Vivanco in the lawsuit.
We demand him to apologise using the same media he used to “to smear” the magazine. (FL)
