Vanity Fair named Pope Francisco as “Man of the Year”
The Italian edition of Vanity Fair dedicated the cover of its latest issue to Pope Francisco and named him “Man of the Year” for his actions, fight against corruption and peace message to the world during the first hundred days of his pontificate.
With this tribute, one of the world’s most influential magazines positions Argentine Pope “among the leaders who make history.”
In the coverage, the magazine collects the opinión of several celebrities as British singer Elton John, the Italian writers Erri De Luca, Dacia Maraini and Giorgio Faletti and Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, who highlight different aspects of the pontiff.
“Francis is a miracle of humility in an era of vanity. I hope he manages to deliver his message even further, to the most marginalised in society, to those communities which… desperately need his love. I am thinking for example of homosexuals,” said John.
