Venezuelans in Ecuador can apply for a humanitarian visa until August 13

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador told the Efe agency that the applications may be submitted on the Virtual Consulate platform “it will be until midnight on August 13, 2020 ″ , a process that is framed in presidential decree 1020 on the extension of the regulatory process for Venezuelan citizens, which was signed in March in the face of the emergency situation by COVID-19.

Here you can access the virtual consulate .

This term of the procedure, which has a cost of $ 50, has been questioned by Venezuelan migrant associations, the La República portal collects, because they believe that this time will not be enough for citizens at risk to obtain that amount of money .

“Taking into account the vulnerability of this population, because we are still in a state of exception and pandemic, the same scenario that we had a few months ago (…). With the debts they have from leases, electricity, etc., added to the health issue, they are not able to pay $ 50 , which represents two weeks of food, eating once a day, “said Daniel Regalado, president of the Association Civil Venezuela in Ecuador, to EFE.

In the note it is added that the Foreign Ministry has launched, through social networks and other channels, informative messages and videos on the regulatory process for Venezuelans. (I)
