“The virus is in Ecuador with the first case identified on February 29. They doubled from 58 to 111 in one day . Our obligation is to slow down this spread , but we can only do it if you collaborate, ”said the vice-president, calling on the population to abide by the measures imposed by the government and radicalized by means of a decree of a state of emergency .
He stressed that the Government is doing its part, ” Today is your chance to be a hero and stay home .”
For those who cannot and should not go to work – he pointed out – we are designing clear strategies to bring services to their homes.
He stressed that there will be no cut in basic services and that the financial system is another that cannot stop, “but we are bringing balance.”
Sonnenholzner was emphatic in stressing that ” we recover the economic, not life , we must try to reduce the spread of this disease, otherwise we will saturate the health system and in two weeks there are no beds, it is up to you , for your dad, mom, grandparents, children ”.
He said that it is not pleasant to announce that the cases have doubled and today who takes the test is prioritized .
He argued that it is difficult to say that the virus is already community because the new cases may have had contact with those affected by the primary case.
