The Vicepresident of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, is reportedly going to replace President Rafael Correa during the festivities of the Independence of Guayaquil City on Saturday, which took place on October 9th, 1820.
The presence of Moreno has been confirmed due to a medical rest President Correa was advised to get. Doctors apparently suggested Correa to avoid any physical effort in order to recover from his right knee.
Correa had surgery 15 days ago and during the incidents of September 30th, his knee was affected.
Guayaquil City is celebrating 190 years of Independence, and the festivities will have Moreno as the Highest Authority present. At around 08h30 a wreath will be placed at the Monument to the Heroes of the Nation, located at the Plaza del Centenario.
At 09h00, and with the presence of three branches of the Military, Vicepresident will be present at the Hemicilo de la Rotonda Malecón Simón Bolívar, solemnizing the Naval-Air Civic Parade.
