This morning, Fernando Villavicencio, investigator of the Duzac case, revealed two pictures where President Rafael Correa appears next to Gaston Duzac in the Government Palace.

Villavicencio said that the day after he  filed the complaint in this case (around a month ago), several officers went to his home to scare his family.

“President Correa if you want to see me in jail because you have a trial no me, I will sacrifice myself, I will give you the trophy, but id you do put me in the same cell with Gaston Duzac and five more other “Duzacs” of corrumpition cases (…) I will sacrifice myself but don’t chase my family, don’t chase the journalists. This case is absolutely transparent,” said Villavicencio.

Duzac received a loan of $ 800,000 from Cofiec and presumably there were a number of irregularities in the credit awarding process.
