Violence Break Out in Zuccotti Park Demonstration

New York city officials announced that the Zuccotti Park cleanup of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations were cancelled, afterwards some violent acts were reported in lower Manhattan during Friday morning.
Police asked protesters to stay on the sidewalk instead of the streets, but they refused, a v-formation of police scooters drove through the crowd. The violence escalated when a man went down.
Police officers told CBS that the immediate reaction of the demonstrators was to throw bottles and garbage to the authorities. To contain the situation the officers used their nightsticks and batons to bludgeon the protestors. Around a dozen of demonstrators were arrested. (AV)
