Women attacked by Turkish guard demandd public apology

The group of seven women assaulted last week in the National Institute of Advanced Studies (IAEN), during the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan convened a sit-in at the Foreign Ministry, in which fifty people participated.

With banners, flags, legends, drums and whistles they demanded apologies. Foreign Ministry officials wanted to talk to them, but the attacked women requested a meeting with the presence of the media “because the attack was public,” they argued. They had no answer.

They announced they will seek justice in international courts. They will expose their case to UN Women, said Cristina Cachaguay, president of Women for Change.
