World Bank willing to provide financial support to Ecuador

President Rafael Correa pointed out that the World Bank is ready to provide credits to Ecuador thanks to the development of the country.

“(The Bank) it’s behind us to give us financing because they admire the growth process and economic policy of the country. Welcome its financing but without conditions. We have not rejected the funding, we have rejected their conditions,” he said.

Regarding economic issues of the country in 2014, Correa said that large quantities are required to finance hydropower projects whose disbursements make a total of nearly USD 2,000 million.

These projects shall be financed with loans that are tied to projects, multilateral funding and even “will be placed about $ 700 million in bonds on the international market.”
