In Ecuador, the Mexican Lucia Ramirez met with Ana Setarra, Karen Altamirano, Patricio Chavez and Elena Gálvez, from Yasunidos, with whom she continued the journey on the ‘Climate Caravan.’
They indicate that three objectives motivate them: keeping the oil underground, fighting against the commodification of nature and the production of energy through hydroelectric plants. In Lima they met with more groups that share their thoughts.
The Yasunidos group came to Lima to denounce internationally the end of the Yasuní-ITT initiative and the decision of the Ecuadorian government to start the oil exploration in this national park.
