1.3 million users changed their mobile operator
A total of 1’351.989 users of the advanced mobile service (AMS) exercised their right of number portability between October 12, 2009 and March this year.
According to the Ministry of Telecommunications, through this initiative the right of users is guaranteed, competition and innovation is stimulated and operators are encouraged to evolve rapidly and create new services, benefiting their subscribers.
The Conecel (Claro) operator received 659,058 lines, 639 587 coming from Otecel (Movistar) and 19,471 from the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT). 602,952 Claro users left the service, of which 536,157 moved to Movistar and 66,795 to CNT, statistics of the Agency for Regulation and Control of Telecommunications (ARCOTEL) show.
