10 companies are interested in manufacturing pots and pans for induction cookers
Last Friday the government held the opening of the offers from interested companies in producing cookware for induction cookers, under a plan being implemented by the Ministry of Industry of Ecuador that seeks to replace about 3.5 million gas stoves in order to stop the gas subsidy, which borders the $ 700 million.
A total of ten companies : Umco (Quito), Winslim (foreign), Indalum (Cuenca ), Aplicnet (Cuenca ), Coretensil (Quito), Electrocook (Quito), Fundireciclar (Cuenca ), Indalro (Quito), Kafer Metal (Guayaquil ) and the Association of metal smelters of Ecuador, submitted bids to produce the group of three pots and a frying pan which will be given along with induction cookers from next August.
The companies submitted a first envelope that included an initial proposal with prices and estimated materials. The price for the set of pots must skirt the $ 35 according to the contest rules submitted by the Ministry of Industries.
Under Secretary of Industrial Development Alexis Valencia, said the second envelope with prototypes on pots and technical documents will be submitted until June 20. While the third envelope with the detailed final offer, will be presented until July 2. Only national domestic producers may apply.
