158 applicants are disqualified to replace new judges of the CNJ
One hundred thirty-nine candidates will advance to the next phase of merit and opposition to elect seven new judges of the National Court of Justice (CNJ for its Spanish acronym). While 158 candidates left out of the competition for failing to comply with legal requirements or inability to office.
At a press conference, the President of the Council of the Judiciary (CJ), Gustavo Jalkh, made public the list of contestants and announced the start of the challenge process.
According to Jalkh, most of the non accredited applicants did not meet the documentation uploaded on the web, the ten years of professional experience or some have sanctions, what impedes them from being part of the judicial function for two years.
Among the names removed from the list are: Raúl Ilaquiche, Indigenous Leader and husband of Assemblywoman Lourdes Tibán (PK); José Realpe, Former Lawyer of ‘the 10 of Luluncoto ‘, and Juan Paredes, Judge who sentenced the daily `El Universo´.
