1900 Invitations To The Royal Wedding Have Been Delivered

Posted On 21 Feb 2011

The invitations for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding have been sent. 1900 guests will attend the Webmisnter Abbey on April 29th.

Despite the guest list’s names have not been released, sources reported David and Victoria Beckham are among the invited celebrities, after William worked with the footballer on England’s failed bid for the 2018 World Cup.

The Sunday Times reported that British Prime Minister David Cameron has been invited, however, President Barack Obama and other world leaders will miss out because William is only second in line to the British throne, not the heir.

William has invited ex-girlfriends Jecca Craig and Olivia Hunt, and Kate has invited former boyfriend Rupert Finch, the newspaper reported.

William’s aunts and uncle–mother’s side–, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale and her brother, Earl Charles Spencer have also been invited.

Only 600 people have been invited to a lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, and an even smaller group of 300 will attend a dinner and dance hosted by Prince Charles in the evening.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old girl has spent twelve days in a hunger strike outside the British Embassy in Mexico; she hopes to get an invitation to the Royal Wedding. Her name is Estibaliz Chavez and she refuses to interrupt her strike despite United Kingdom Government informed it was not possible to deliver an invitation for her. Chavez has already lost 7 Kg “Will they let me die for not giving me an invitation?” she said and added she will continue starving herself until she cannot keep going.
