26 political movements expect to be recognized by the CNE

This week, the National Electoral Council (CNE) once again will invite the technical delegates of the 26 political organizations, to continue with the audit of the electoral register.

Organizations must meet a requirement, in the case of national movements and political parties: these shall submit a support equivalent to 1.5% of the electoral register in force. In the first case it is about 174,000 signatures of support and the second, an equal number of affiliations.

In a large room, a group of technicians daily verifies the records (signatures). They can be identified with a blue vest and a credential. The room is in the old Supermarket of the Armed Forces, in the north of Quito, and the use of cell phones is strictly forbidden. Taking pictures of computer screens is prohibited because sensitive personal data, protected by the Constitution, is processed processed in this place.

The access of election observers accredited by political organizations is allowed, so they can monitor the process. They wear light blue vests and watch from behind the work of verifiers. On Friday, 30 people, including verifiers and supervisors, reviewed a package of affiliations of the Adelante Ecuador Adelante party, founded by businessman Alvaro Noboa (ex Prian).
