Ecuadornews:

They were sentenced to one year in prison. Almost all were dismissed from the Ecuadorian Air Force. One of them even died.
They were investigated and sentenced for their alleged participation in the stoppage of public services at the old Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito, on September 30, 2010 (30S).
They plead not guilty. They say they never were against the government. 62 aeronautical technicians and retired militaries seek to be included in an eventual amnesty granted by the Legislature. They were sentenced to one year in prison.
“We ask for the amnesty because we have been tried for a crime we did not commit,” says Julio Parreño, a retired non-commissioned officer. (I)
