“Los Locos Addams” (The addams family), the popular family of the American comic series of the sixties, also integrate this route of giant monkeys that for the third time designs the Public Municipal Tourism Company and is made up of 40 sectors of the city.
This Monday, Gloria Gallardo, president of the Municipal Public Company of Tourism, presented the third edition of the Route of the Giants, in an event held in the City Hall.
José Luis Morales, creator of The Addams, said that he started making them last August and that the set-up of the scenery took a month. “The work on this was from dawn to dusk, plus the dawns that we hit taking care of the dolls, until 05:00, since Friday we started the exhibition,” Morales said, adding that his neighbor Einstein Ramos helped him with the assembly of the scenography, which at night looks illuminated.
In addition to lighting Addams have other components. Uncle Thing walks across the stage and Fingers enters and leaves his box with the help of an air cylinder that is activated with a compressor. Homer expels smoke from his cigar and Uncle Lucas has an intermittent focus in his mouth. Morales said that these innovations attract more people and therefore spare no effort with their creativity. The Flintstones is another of the television series recreated in gigantic puppets. The family of Pedro and his friend Pablo is displayed in the streets Medardo Angel Silva between the 15th and the 16th.
Carlos Zapata, who made the dolls, said that being part of the path of the giants is a motivation to continue shaping their talent and benefits the sector, since it puts it among the destinations to visit on the occasion of the New Year. “It’s a positive thing for one, to be known as an artisan and that people appreciate what art is,” he said. In the list of the giants figure, in addition, King Kong, whose author, Charles Vilema, works in clothing day and night in the Tenth and Ayacucho.
