$ 42 fee for 4×4 shipments is suspended until October

The start of the collection of the $ 42 fee for imports under the 4×4 system will not be since tomorrow. A new resolution of the Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex for its Spanish acronym) suspended until October 8 the rate of $ 42 for the shippings.

President Rafael Correa said yesterday in his weekly address that during this time it will be analyzed how “true migrants” can be excluded from the payment.

“This really affects our fellow migrants”, admitted the President.

Correa added that the resolution allowed the “Ecuadorian Pelucón” to do his shopping online, send it to a box in Miami and bring it via courier.

Assemblyman Esteban Melo (AP) clarified that the new measure seeks to exclude migrants from the payment of the fee, by ensuring it they have a document that proves it.
