5,2 Earthquake Strikes Chile With No Victims Reported Yet
A 5,2 earthquake shaked four regions in the Center of Chile, withouth causing major damages or victims, authorities informed today.
According to Instituto Sismológico from Universidad de Chile, at 01:42 local time (05:42 GMT) the grounds shake with an epicenter located under the sea, on the O’Higgins region, 36 km Northeast from Navidad and 160 km Southeast from Santiago, at 45 km depth.
The telluric wave crossed all regions previously affected by the 8,8 earthquake that devastated the country earlier this year The regions of Valparaíso, Santiago, O’Higgins and Maule felt the seism.
The earthwuake was preceeded by two minor ones, with epicenters in the same zone. The first one occured at 00:45 (04:45 GMT), and the second one at 01:06 (05:06 GMT), with 3,9 and 3,6 grades respectively.
