6500 workers will suffer a reduction in their salaries

carlos marx carrascoThe Minister of Labour Carlos Marx Carrasco announced yesterday that 6500 workers of the superior level of all state functions will have a reduction in their unified monthly salaries.

Of the ten existing scales, the first will earn USD 2115; while the one that is on the tenth will receive USD 6261.

This reduction does not include the sectors of health, safety, judges, prosecutors and public defenders or public servants. However, it is applied on workers of the superior levels:  Executive and Electoral branches, Legislative functions, National Council of Justice, Transparency and Social Control and Decentralized Autonomous Governments.

Wage ceilings were also established for the Legislative branch. Assemblymen will earn USD $ 5009 (before 6000), whereas assistants will earn $1394.
